Bio

The man pictured is Scott Kay though born Scott Kraske, originally from Southern California. He is boomerX generation, latch-key kid, absent parents and worse, has been writing as a form of escape and therapy since childhood. These days middle aged profit of story telling and with a career largely as a professional cook/chef.

I know a lot about chosen family versus biological family and the importance of friends and people who help us get through life. I had a challenging childhood with parents who were bringing up a queer kid and had no compass or skills at basic parenting. Let alone the challenges of their own demons and mistakes as adults in a modern world.

I think a lot of those complications are mirrored in my writing and in the growth of my lead characters, specifically in Joshua and Caleb. They are friends from different worlds with an ocean of life experience as a difference between them. It is their simularities that make them such good allies.

Current Project

ELDRITCH CRUSADE: Tale of the Four Winds

It's an adventure. The people in this story have been with me for twelve years now, and it's been an amazing journey. This is a universe within our own. The monsters are Mythological and arcane beings scraping to survive. But it all comes as a young man learns he comes from a long line of witches, who is overshadowed by some pretty amazing and powerful beings. He has to raise himself up to meet them. He is not alone and his best friend is a Necromancer with a similar background in personal loss. It's family and chosen family with a bit of death, dismemberment, and smack of carnage. Political dynamics between monsters and creatures living (or not-living) in the shadows. There is a lot of inspiration from Anne Rice from the Vampire Chronicles and specifically a book from the Witches series called Taltos. From Neil Gaiman and his effortless crafting of the supernatural worlds he lives in. Steven Saylor for the in depth character development. And the pace and excitement in Dan Brown. Adrenaline runs between the pages along with shocking feats of magic and every reason to doubt what you thought you knew.

Follow along on the journey as it continues to grow with the next two books that are already written and will hopefully follow the publication of the first. It is ideally suited for a 3 season, 9 episode each television/streaming adventure drama. I do not have an agent yet, but am looking for one now. I can be reached at one of the channels below.
